How to Converting 3ds Max file to OSG format?
Hi,
I'm using vizard 5 (32 bit). I have a 3d model of a shopping mall in 3ds Max. I want to use it in my vizard. But it require OSG format. I also tried OSG exporter but during exporting program seems to freeze and crash as a result I was not able to save out the file for Vizard. Please suggest me any method so that I can convert 3ds Max model to OSG format. My Laptop has Windows 8 (32 bit). |

What is the model size and how much RAM is on the machine? If there is not enough RAM, 3ds Max can crash during the export process.

Hi,
That work was done by product team of the site from which I'm purchasing my 3d model. So I can tell you about the RAM only after I'll get reply from those guys. But yeah the size of .3ds model is 7mb. You can also have a look at the model here: http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/...aurants/667443 They said, in .3ds file you will not get all materials and textures because .3ds is a old version so no one works on that. but the osg exporter exports only 3ds files and Vizard supports only .OSG files. So now I've surrounded with a lot of problems here. So can suggest me any site where I can get 3d Model of a Shopping Mall in .3ds format directly without any loss of textures and it would be better I can get the .osgb file of the Shopping Mall directly. Please reply at your earliest !! |

Our supported workflow to create OSG files is to export from 3ds Max with the OSG exporter available on our downloads page. There is partial support for other model formats. This page covers this topic:
