Good question! I've just purchased these hi speed hdmi cables in 10 ft and 30 ft. The 10 ft work fine, but the 30 foot are not recognized by the Rift Runtime.
Aurum Ultra Series - High Speed HDMI Extension Cable Male - Female (1.5 Ft) With Ethernet - CL2 Certified - Supports 3D & Audio Return Channel [Latest Version] - 1.5 Feet I would be curious to try HDMI extenders via ethernet out. Ethernet cables are lighter than HDMI, and will interfere with movement less. I've done this before with HDMI, on an NVIS rig that required two cables with great success. I'm also curious about wireless options, but shy away from the added latency. |
