Okay,
I guess something is already going wrong in 3dsmax. I have 3dsmax 2010 (32 bit) with the latest plugin for ive/osg export. But when i export the model in 3dsmax and select the preview button, i don't even see textures in the preview. Of course i see textures on the viewer from max self. Anyone has any idea what i am doing wrong? |

Are you using a standard material as in the knowledge base article?

No, i am using an actual texture. (Used normal mapping, unfolded the cube and made a texture, created from a uvw map).
Nothing fancy, just some colors on a cube. (no bump maps or anything). This morning i also tried it with another version of 3dsmax. (2011, with the osg/ive exporter), but still nothing... in the preview modus 3dsmax shows a blank cube, when rendered in 3dsmax the texture displays still fine. |

Hi Yamaha,
There seems to be a misunderstanding here. In 3ds max, maps and materials are separete things. Maps/textures are contained within materials. For exporting, you need to be using the "Standard" material type with your texture in the Diffuse, Self-Illumination or Reflection slot. I've attached a screenshot of the recommend OSG Exporter settings. |
