turning off hardware

small question - recently we had worldviz software and hardware installed
at our lab here. we were told that basically we should turn things (ppt tracking, Hmd helmet, and the usb connection to the glove and helmet ) off when they are not in use since it wears them down, but we are not sure exaclty how crazy we should be about it.

i.e. if we don't use the hardware for let's say 20 minutes, would you say that we should turn it off, or leaving it on for 20 minutes to an hour, is no biggie?
is leaving it on for a day a VERY serious issue, or just a small insignificat slip?

i know, silly question, but still relevant for our lab protocol regarding the
hardware.... we would hate to see 100,000 dollars get throws away to the trash :\

thanks!
dan

The most important item is the HMD. We recommend not leaving it on overnight. If you're not going to be using it for 20 minutes then I wouldn't worry about turning it off.
