3D projection: difference cuboid/sphere

Hi!
I'm currently using a powerwall to present cuboid-shaped and spherical objects in 3d.

When I increase the IPD the cuboids retain their size on the screen, but for the spheres the expansion in x-direction becomes bigger than the expansion in y-direction (i.e. they become ellipses) on the screen.
Can anyone explain this to me?
