Oculus DK1 and DK2 in Vizard 5

If you've been running the Oculus DK1 in the Vizard 5 Beta it was not required to install the Oculus Runtime. Now in Vizard 5, you'll need to install the Oculus runtime and follow the instructions in the Oculus documentation.

If you're using the DK2, you'll find some additional information in the Oculus DK2 and Vizard article on the WorldViz knowledge base.

Hi Jeff,

I was able to connect to the Oculus Rift with Vizard 5 yesterday after re-installing the Oculus Runtime, but it failed this morning again. I uninstall and re-install the Oculus runtime; however, I still having the same problem. I can't figure out the problem. Would you be able to provide me some suggestions regarding this issue? Thank you in advance.

An error I am getting is:
ERROR: Failed to detect Oculus HMD
Oculus Rift not detected

Note:
I stepped through instructions given in the Vizard 5 Oculus Rift reference webpage.

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for providing the resolutions. It seems uncheck "DK1 Legacy App Support" in the Oculus Configuration Utility solved the problem.

Yes, if you're using the DK1, depending on the version of the Oculus SDK installed, you'll either need to check or uncheck that option.
