Unhappy I need help with the Far Clip Plane...

Hi,

I'm having a problem with far clip plane setting in Vizard.
We Loaded a scene with a high number polygon (about 65,000+ polys), We have performance increase as the camera goes past the terrain, or, looking away from the terrain. But, we don't have performance increase when the camera is looking onto the terrain, with a close 'far-clip plane'.

The far clip plane doesn't seem to work, but the near clip plane and the side seems to work fine.

Do I need to do something else to get the far clip plane to work?

Regards,
Iwan

Vizard will not split up meshes and only render the parts that are in view. If even one polygon of a very large mesh is in view, then Vizard will render the entire mesh. So if you have a mesh that takes up a large area, then I suggest you break up the mesh into smaller pieces.

Also, be aware that there is *no* occlusion culling going on. So object's behind walls will be rendered as well.

Talking

Hi,

Just to let you know that it is working well. I saved the big scene into smaller scenes, into separate files witha close far-clip plane. The loading times takes longer but having smaller pieces improves the framerate.

Thank you.
