Strange distortion when creating morphs

Hi all

I created a head with different emotions using FaceGen. I exported them as WRL files.

When morphing them, I first have no problem.

But as soon as I load the WRL files in 3DSMax and edit them in some way (e.g. I rotated every head along the z-axis for 10°), and then export them to WRL again, PeopleMaker has strange results when morphing the heads:

(See attached image)

What could be the problem here?! Anyone knows a solution?

Thanks
Josh
