Talking Another general (curious) Questions...

Hi again,

I've been using vizard for quite sometime now, and I must say It's a great piece of software. Big plus!!! on the functionality side. I was able to use 5dt data glove and clustering with no problem at all.

Due to the nature of my position while working with vizard (3d artist - bit of scripting), I'm curious If vizard dev team would improve the program visually;
a) Real Time Bloom effect? I fake this effect within blender using Yafray, bake the texture -> import into Vizard
b) Real Time Global Illumination? This again, I bake in Blender using Yafray.
c) Real Time soft/Hard Shadows? I bake shadows in BLender by using Yafray(again), L3DT, others. I find in Vizard that light penetrates polygons and after polygons even.. I could see light in a enclosed polygon room.

Considering that Vizard actually runs on Opengl... is there a plan to give support on DirectX as well??

Is there an example how to implement CG shaders into vizard? like cg code -> vizard plugin sdk -> xxx -> xxx -> vizard?

I'm asking just out of curiosity. Thanks for your time.

Regards,
Iwan

Developing the visual capabilities of Vizard is important to us. Vizard 3.0 will have a number of improvements that have not yet been finalized.

Vizard currently supports the Open GL 2.0 shading laugage. Check out the examples Vizard30\examples\shader

Regarding your c) from above, can you elaborate or attach a screenshot. I'm not following what you mean by light penetration.

Demo created to explain point (c) above... and open day in out dept.

@tobin;

I've created a demo where light penetrates polygons as I mentioned above in point (c). The filesize is 3.5 mb, I can't post this in the forum, could I send this to your email address instead?

My vizard expired last night, I tested the files and all worked fine.

When will the next beta be released? We are going to have an open day in our dept. on 09-sept-06 The demos that we created utilise features from Vizard 3 beta, and can't be run from Vizard 2.53 (this is the license that we owned). (pls check www.mq.edu.au for more info about the open day)

Regards,
Iwan
