Problems implementing Vizard in a CAVE with Shutter Glasses
Hello,
I am currently working with a CAVE setup, with 4 screens (left, front, right and bottom). 5 computers are used in the system, 4 controling the visuals on the screens and one master computer. Vizard is installed on all computers and our resource files are properly distributed across all of them. I was able to utilize the vizcave to get the four screens viewing the sceen correctly, (however I had to disable tracking and set a FOV for all of 90 degrees and ratio of 1). So I have my scene working correctly, but I reached a problem I can't seem to surmount. The system uses shutter glasses and I can not seem to get it to go into a 3D mode. I followed the help file and installed the NVIDIA drivers for 3D support across all the computers but I still got nothing. Any ideas on how to fix this? I have an important deadline coming up and I need to fix this in the course of the next week. Thank You, George D. Lecakes Jr. Rowan University |

Are you sure the stereo drivers are compatible with the version of your graphics card driver? Can you get the 3D to work in a standalone script, without clustering?

I can't say for sure right now, but what I can tell you is that the cluster itself is very new (only 3 weeks old).
It fully supports vGeo and going into 3D through the use of that program. I will have to check to see about the driver compatibility. Thanks, George D. Lecakes Jr. |

Hi, I am back again.
I am still having the problem of getting Stereo to work across the whole CAVE. I can have each wall run in stereo separately, but when I cluster them and ask that they run the same scene, I end up with my CAVE not rendering in stereo, but my master monitor (a screen outside the CAVE) ends up rendering in 3D. Any ideas? Thanks, George D. Lecakes Jr. |

I'm going to see if I can replicate the problem here. I'll get back to you with my results.

I tested it out here and it works fine. To be clear, are you using the nVidia consumer stereo drivers or quad buffered cards (nVidia Quadro)?

Cave
Hello,
Maybe to long ago, but I'm interessed in your Cave. I'm working on a Cave to with vizard. But I think the stereo isn't implemented correct. The projections on every wall is made with the glasses looking at the walls. So 4 positons of the glasses for every wall another position. The glasses should only look at the frontwall and the projections of the other walls should be calculated from this postion. Did you notice this and more important did you solve this? kind regards, Sjaak |

For stereo tracking you must specify either a position and orientation tracker or a left/right position tracker.
