Can I get real time Intersense tracking data from another computer on the network?

Hi,

I have multiple machines loaded with Vizard software and a separate machine with IS-900 Intersense tracking installation. I know that I can get the tracking data if I have Vizard on the same machine as IS-900.

But how can I get the real time Intersense tracking data from a machine
If I have them connected to the same network?

What kind of things I need to do and consider to enable that?

Do we have any sample code or tutorial related to it?

Please help.

Thanks

How is the other computer sending the information? If it is using VRPN, then you can use Vizards builtin VRPN client plugin. If it is using its own network format, then you can use the Python socket library to send/receive raw data over the network. Here is a link to a forum post which provides sample code for using the socket library:

Thanks Farshizzo for your reply. I'm not familiar with networking in general. I don't think there is anything done in the other computer for sending the information. I think I will need to figure out how to write some code for the Intersense computer to send information using VRPN. Do you have any sugguestions on where I should go to get some instructions or sample code related to that?

You can visit the VRPN website for detailed instructions on how to setup a VRPN server. We provide pre-built binaries for the VRPN server on our download page. You just need to download it and configure the vrpn.cfg file to connect to an intersense and start the server.
