anacapa avatars

We're using the anacapa avatars and we're having a few problems when we export them from 3dmax. For one thing, we have to flip all the textures horizontally (about the x axis) in order for them to be in the correct orientation in Vizard. The avatars also appear odd in Vizard. I don't know quite how to describe it, but it's as if the textures are shifting too much over the meshes as the avatar moves producing a glimmering effect.

I'm guessing that the problem is in the way in which we exported things. Our mesh files are .cmf files and our animation files are .caf files. This is different from the avatar that came with Vizard where the mesh files are .cmx files and the animation files are .cax files.

Any ideas?
