Animate character in WorldViz and record animation?

Hi all

I need to animate a character (Live Characters) in WorldViz AND record those animations simultaneously, so I can export them to Cal3D and map them to an agent later.

Is there any reason why this is not possible? I'm reading through the manual of Live Characters right now, I'm just curious if there's a known obstacle towards this. Because if so, I have a really big problem. ;-)

Thanks for help
Josh

MotionBuilder was created for this purpose; that is, to record animations for avatars. MotionBuilder is the tool that LiveCharacters lives in. Once recorded in MotionBuilder, you export the animation to 3ds Max and then export to CFG.

I bet you can record animations and run LiveCharacters in MotionBuilder at the same time if you want.

Another option would be to buypass 3ds Max and record all of the LiveCharacters's bone rotation in some data file with Vizard. Then read that data back to animate the character again.

There is also a direct export option you can use for exporting the animation which does not require you to go through 3ds Max. That is explained in the Live Characters --> Animation Export section of the Live Characters documentation.

Thank you! We didn't manage everything today, but we got a step or two further... I hope I will make it soon. :-)
