3rd person camera 'game'

Hello
What would be the best way to implement a 3rd person camera view in Vizard. (Like most games have).
So, just an avatar, able to walk around with the keys, in some level, while the camera keeps in a 3rd person view.
thanx in advance

Collision will check the viewpoint position rather than the avatar position. You might try changing the <viewpoint>.collisionbuffer distance so collision will occur some distance in front of the viewpoint position.

After working with this a while its not still the way it should be....
The avatar is just displayed in front of the camera, and when you rotate the camera, you dont rotate around the avatar, but around the camera ( thus moving the avatar around also )....
Its not givin off a feel of control like games have.

Also, I cant seem to get the Collision working nicely.
(collisionbuffer value doesnt seem to have any effect .... )

Im trying to load room.wrl, and walk around in it 3rd person-style.
1st person mode is perfect now, camera point stays nicely inside the room, including the cabinets etc. sticks to floor nicely.

But simply putting an avatar in front of it doesnt make a good 3rd person view, i find....

Any other suggestions ?
thanx sofar though
