Linking avatar 'bones' to a position tracker.
We are using inertiaCube^2 sensors and we want to link several bones of the avatar to several sensors in order to have control over these bones in the virtual world for a research experiment. We were wondering if there is any helper functions that would aid us in this or if we need to resort to using the raw sensor data and trying to figure out how to get the limbs of the avatars ourselves. Thanks for your time.

Are you using R1 or R2 avatars? The answer to your question will depend on which version you're using. Please paste the line of code you use to create your avatars and then I can tell exactly what version you're using.
Thanks. |

currently we're using the R2 avatars based on Cal3d. Although we're not married to either, whatever will work can be used. Thanks again.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. At the time of your post, there was no facility for directly controlling the "bones" of the R2 avatars. We have sinced added this ability and it will be made available starting with version 2.13. The entire R2 avatar command syntax is being "repackaged" to simplify and enhance its functionality. 2.13 is scheduled for release on Dec. 1.
Hopefully you'll find the wait worth it |
