graphics card for Vizard powerwall
Hi there, I need to set-up a powerwall to use with Vizard and PPT. I think I have everything I need (i.e., pc, 120hz projector, active shutter glasses, Vizard development licesnse, PPT) except for the graphics card. Unless I am mistaken, I should have a quadro card. If this is the case, would a cheap quadro card (e.g., 600) work or do I need a more high-end model (e.g., 4000, 5000)?
Thanks in advance. |

If your only requirement is to run your display in active stereo then any Quadro card will do the job. The higher end cards support features like 3D glasses emitter sync, SLI, genlock, and of course stronger 3D performance.
If you are using a DLP Link project and DLP Link capable 3D glasses (no external emitter needed), then your projector may support one of the other 3D formats such as side-by-side, top-down, or checkerboard. In that case, you sacrifice either some vertical or horizontal resolution but you can continue to use Geforce instead of Quadro cards (giving you much higher 3D performance per dollar). You might experiment with your projector before deciding to switch to Quadro graphics cards. |

Thanks! I indeed have DLP Link projector and glasses and a decent Geforce card lying around. I guess I should try it out. Do I take it that Radeon cards won't do the task? (the pc I'm thinking about using already has an HD5770 in it).
