Using a different engine within VR

Hi,

I'm a student in a VR laboratory at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and we're thinking about trying to use the Source engine, by VALVe, instead of using the usual software. We think it might save us some work because it has much more available models, an easy-to-use interface for creating animations, facial expressions, etc., and its an easy way to get better looking graphics.

Anyway, our programmers aren't sure about the integration with the WorldViz software, if it can work at all. So - do you think it can be done? If so, does it require trying to work independently (using the Source engine without WorldViz), or can it be done using the original software?

Thanks in advance,
-Haggai

The Source engine is a completely separate 3D toolkit, so it cannot be integrated with Vizard. Which features of Vizard are you looking to use that are not supported by the Source engine?

Well, our programmers prefer using Python and not C++, so programming with Vizard is preferable. The question is if Source has advantages that compensate for that.
