animating the verticies, lines or polys of an object?

hello, I hope one of you guys can help.
I try to figure out if it is possible to animate the geometry of a placed object and connect it to the movement of another object?

thanks in advance, chris

hello jeff,

we need to attach some cables to a moving, rotating object on one side and on the other it remains in position. the movement is controlled by a button press.

thanks
