Installation fails for 3ds max 2008

Hi,
I tried to install the Vizard 3.0 - Cal3D Exporter for 3ds Max 2008, german

The setup doesn't recognize the 3ds-istallation, it is a german version, using a license server.

I am using Windows XP pro, german, 32bit, SP2.

In the registry are following entries:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Autodesk/3dsMax/10.0/MAX-1_407

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Autodesk/3dsMax/10.0/ObjectDBX

Is there a way to install the plugin manually?

Try temporarily renaming the registry key from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Autodesk/3dsMax/10.0/MAX-1_407 to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Autodesk/3dsMax/10.0/MAX-1:409 and then running the installer. Hopefully this will work.

The read me file asks us to copy the cal3d.dll, cal3d_max_importer.idi and cal3d_max_exporter.ide to the plug in directory:

c:\program files\autodesk\3dsmax 2009\plugin.

I follow this. Is this the so-called installation? Any way, it does not work.
Do I need to manually modiy the registry?

It seems like you are trying to install the installer for 3DSMax 2008 (you name it in the title of your post: vizard253_max8_cal3.zip ) with
3DSMax 2009 c:\program files\autodesk\3dsmax 2009\plugin.

The installer vizard253_max8_cal3.zip is ONLY for 3DSmax8 and for Vizard 2.5xxx versions.

Please kindly use Vizard3.xx and the correct installer for installing with 3DSMax 2009.

I am sorry that I cannot find cal3d exporter for 3ds studio max 2009. Please tell me where I can find the programs and also how to instal.
