need help with creating smoke

I am trying to create a smoke effect for a simulation and I am not sure how to make it work in Vizard...

I made a smoke object in 3D Max with particle spray and exported it as .osg to Vizard. I added motion blur to the particle so that it would resemble trails of the smoke. The problem is that when I export it, the motion blur effect does not show up when run in Vizard. I opened up the osg file and tried altering a few parameters but couldn't find a way to make it look more like smoke. Is there any ways to enable motion blur or is there a better way to create a smoke effect in Vizard? thanks in advance.

Here's a smoke plugin I found somewhere. It works with
Viz 2.5 but not with Viz 3.

You can use osgedit to assist in the creation of particle effects. I have attached a 3.0 compatable smoke effect.

Also, here is a link to a descitipon of some of osg particles parameters

The world I am working on is in Viz 3.0 and osgedit seems to work well. Right now I'm just trying to make a smoke from scratch in osgedit, I tried changing the shape and radius parameters but still couldn't quite figure out how to make a thin layer of smoke instead of the ball of smoke (I am trying to model a world with thin smoke emitting from the ground). Thanks for the help

This thread caught my attention. Forgive me for the the juvenile question, but how do I use osgedit? Is it a separate download or part of Vizard 3? I too am working on some fog effects (specifically snow effects) for a project and would love some advice on creating such things. Any ideas?
