Jpeg Image issue?

It seems whenever I export from my file that has jpeg texture images, the jpegs are inherently destroyed by the export process. Either I get a neat-o rainbow dots effect over everything, or the jpegs are completely black. No matter what compression I use, if I use original images or have the OSG exporter deal with them, nothing works.

To get around this, I'm not even dealing with exporting the images and just using the real originals in the folder.

However, if I use targa's as input or have the OSG export convert the jpegs to targa's or png's the images export just fine. Now, I realize jpeg image format is a new thing and not widely used these days, but this seems to be a bug and it is seemingly only related to jpegs.
