Funny morphs with 3DMeNow/PeopleMaker
I'm using the following process to make .vzf files from 3DMeNow:
- Save morphed faces from 3DMeNow as a set of .wrl files (Subdivision Iterations = 1) - Use 3ds max 5 to convert the files from VRML 1.0 to 2.0 (Bitmap URL turned off) - Open PeopleMaker on the "baseline" .wrl file - Flip the polygon order - Use File->Open->Create Morph and Tools->Generate Morph Target to convert the .wrl files into morph targets. - Autoscale the head, fix the neck vertices, and save the .vzf. The resulting .vzf works, but it has some funny artifacts, even when I restrict the morph percentage to a number from 0 to 1.0. For example, apply a smile might cause a polygon to grow out of the cheek. The original 3DMeNow morph didn't have that funny polygon, so something must have gone wrong in the translation. Any I doing something wrong? Any ideas?
