Shadows in Vizard
HI,
I found in the Vizard website a sample script on shadows and how to apply them. In the example, we have two eyeballs moving around and the shadows are following it. I noticed the shadows are nothing but a .jpg image of shadows. So could you tell me if that was done in 3ds Max and then exported? If so, would it be possible to explain how to export only the shadow map accordingly? Thanks, Vinicius |

The image is just a standard gray scale image. This technique will only work with objects that are rotated about the Y-axis. To create this image use any standard image editing program to make an outline of your 3d model from a top down view. Then following the example code to project the texture downward.

Hi,
I used the same example with the eyeballs and replaced the 'eyeballs.osg' by a selfmade object 'kugel.wrl' (which is basically a ball) and the shadow, does never appear under the object but always slightely displaced. I also tried all other kinds of applying shadows to the object, the outcome was all the same. |
