Main window size larger than monitor

(I have version 3.)
In the meanwhile I tried the setDisplayMode, and it didn't work as well.
So, I can I set the window size larger than the monitor?
Is is possible at all?

(by the way, just a suggestion, case there is a function that it is only available from a certain version it should be written in the documentation page. For instance, the documentation of numpy has this feature)
