Impostors ?

Hello Wizards !!

I tried to export a 3dsmax scene by including the Impostors OSG Helper, but no objects render in the scene under vizard… What happened ?

Hi,

I'm not sure what is wrong. We have gotten impostors to work successfully by following the instructions found here. When you say that no objects are rendered, are you referring to the impostor object or all objects?

My scene is empty. My objects are rendered only when I remove them from the Impostor Helper...

Hi,

Which version of OSGExp are you using? Can you try exporting a sample file to the .osg format and post it here? You don't need to post the textures, I just want to examine the .osg file to make sure it is correct.

Hi,

It looks like the impostor is not being exported at all. When exporting the model, did you check "Helpers" under the "Export to Scene" section of the export dialog?

Everything looks good. I'm not sure what is going on. I'm going to have our modeler test this out to see if it works here.

Sorry for the delay. The problem was that the OsgExp installer did not includ a certain dll needed for exporting impostors. I've updated the installer on our downloads page. Can you try it out and let me know if you have any more problems?
