eMagin Z800 problems

Please can someone help?
My boss has asked for a favour...to get his eMagin Z800 to work. He had no software for it, so I went to their website (http://www.3dvisor.com/support/) and downloaded it.

His Laptop is a Vaio, with an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, with 2 GB memory and processor speed 533MHz. It runs XP and has a NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 supporting 128MB.

His computer already had Third Dimension software on it (http://www.realtime-3d.com/index.php/download), which enabled the HMD to be connected and focussed. It also had a 3D media centre which would show exactly what the goggles were looking at. I also found that I could make the goggles act like a second monitor (attached to the side of the laptop screen), or replicate what the laptop's screen showed.

However when I opened any of the software from the 3dvisor website, it would just say that it wasn't connected.

I have noticed that the box that is connected to the headset has only ever had a red light on, never seen an amber or a green light that it says exist in the manual.

Am I doing something wrong? Can someone help?
