I don't think the problem is UVW coordinates because the textures that appear on top of the head are not from that model, but from another model (the one standing next to the avatar). ...

I figured out what I did wrong when the waittimes...

I figured out what I did wrong when the waittimes were all going off at the beginning of the sequence. When I called the director function I used an extra set of parentheses: viz.director(viewPic()).
