How to use Avatars Included

Hello,

I'm a new user of vizard. To make more real feeling, I'd like to see "my" hands and "my" feet, not the whole body, when i wearing HMD. Is that possible? It's said there are some built-in human models in vizard. How can I make use of them? For example, I saw a file named male_shoes.cmx. Is that I can use? Or any other ways to render hands and feet?

Thanks in advance.

Are you tracking the hands and feet of the user, or do you want to place the hand/feet models at a fixed position relative to the head position? The model you mentioned is a mesh file that belongs to an avatar. You could add the avatar and hide all its mesh parts except for the feet and hand, but it probably wouldn't look very good. If possible, I would recommend modeling your own feet/hand objects.

Thanks for the reply.

I want to track the hands and place the feet at a fixed position. What kind of tool do you recommend to build my own hands/feet objects, which can be used in vizard?

Thanks.

We use 3dsmax here, but depending on your budget, it can be quite expensive. There is a free modeling tool called Blender, however we don't have much experience with it here. You can try searching the web for free models or you can purchase a model at TurboSquid.

That helps. :) Thanks a lot.
