Vizconnect SpaceGrip problem

I'm trying to use the Laseraid SpaceGrips as an Input in the Vizconnect interface but it doesn't look like it is working correctly. The Status shows a green light like it is working but this shows whether the SpaceGrips are connected to my computer or not.

I noticed that the SpaceGrips are connecting via Port 5 (COMM5) and it looks like the default is Port 1. There doesn't seem to be any way to change the Port # in Vizconnect.

I did use the Example code you had in the Reference Section under Gaming Devices -> Laseraid SpaceGrips and the SpaceGrips work fine using the Example Code.

Checking to see if there is anything I can do to get the SpaceGrips working in Vizconnect?

thank you

John

Thanks for bringing this up, it seems like the option to specify the port is missing. If vizconnect is receiving data from the device the Status button should be bright green. Click on the button to open the status dialog and see the most recent signal information.

If there is no data you can manually edit the config file as a temporary workaround. Add the SpaceGrips input in vizconnect, save the config file and then open it up in the Vizard editor. In the InitInputs function find the following line of code:

Code:

rawInput[_name] = spacegrips.addSensor()
Change that to:

Code:

rawInput[_name] = spacegrips.addSensor(port=5)
Run the config file to open up the vizconnect interface again. See if the Status is now bright green and reporting data.

Jeff,

Thank you. That worked great. I now have the SpaceGrips working using VizConnect. Definitely enjoying using VizConnect, it makes connecting devices very easy.

The port/baudrate settings will be available in the next release.
