Oculus CV + PPT-E
Hi,
We have had issues with bouncy positional tracking with Oculus Rift CV1 with PPT-E system for a couple of weeks now. Today I spent several hours trying to figure out where the problem lies and apparently it's the CV1. I went through all of the HW configurations (camera adjustments, calibration, tuning, wand+eyes settings, etc) and everything worked fine. Then after turning Oculus on the bouncing started once again. I removed and turned off the eyes and wand. That's when I realized that CV1 itself is emitting light that is tracked by PPT-E system, therefore causing bounciness in the positional tracking. Do you have a quick solution for this? (Other than covering the oculus front and back plates with cloth :D ) I wasn't able to find anything quick myself, other than modifying oculus's .cs files... |
Make sure the Oculus camera sensor is disconnected. That will activate the LEDs in the HMD.

Hi Jeff,
I tried that yesterday and it didn't work. Today, however, it works as intended. Thanks |
