Changing PPT markers from H mode to X

We are using PPT Studio 2008 with an X configuration but the markers when we turn them on are set to H mode and PPT Studio doesn't recognize them. How do we get them to switch, I have serched the help and online but haven't found any details on how to switch them. How do you get them to switch?
