Hi- I am trying to export a snowcloud from 3DstudioMAX in a way that I can walk around inside of it in vizard as a 3d animation. I can't seem to get vizard to recognize that the snow exists in my wrl or 3ds file. Does anyone know how to do this?
Also, is there any built-in way to do particle effects in vizard?
thanks!

Hi,

The only format that supports particle effects within Vizard is .osg
There is a plugin for 3dsmax that exports to this format, however I don't think this plugin supports particle effects. Currently, the only way to create a particle effect is to hand edit your own .osg file. If you're still interested I can supply you with an example.

yes, i would be interested in seeing an example of an .osg file to create particle effects.
thanks

Hi,

I've attached a zip file which contains a sample script demonstrating how to use a snow particle effect. You can open the file snow.osg inside any text editor and modify it by hand. Let me know if you need anymore help with this.
