Hi there, we'd like to acquire Vizard for our VR labs, and would like to have headphone-based spatial audio including HRTF convolution for individual sound sources.
Is there a way to do that with Vizard?
For examples, some sound card seem to support HRTF rendering - is there a way to use this from within Vizard?
And suggestions/hint/tricks how to do this (and what sound cards might work best) would be highly appreciated!

Thanks,
Bernie

The current version of our DirectX 3D sound plugin does not support HRTF audio, but we have added support for it for the next release. I don't have any experience using HRTF supported hardware, so I cannot make any specific recommendations. If you need support for this soon, we can provide you with an updated version of the plugin.

Thanks for the info Farshizzo.
Could you give me a rough estimate when the next release that includes HRTF support might come out?
I don't need it urgently, but it would be nice to have it in about a month or so...

If we could get decent spatial audio with Vizard easily, that would really be wonderful! (and this would be so much easier than using external sound cards like the old LAKE DSP system that we used a few years ago...)
Seems like there are surprisingly very few people interested in headphone-based spatial audio though...

Best,
Bernie

We release a new version every quarter, so the next release will be the beginning of January.

Thanks, that should be fine and I'll just wait for the next release!
