Hi there!

We are thinking of setting up a PPT tracking system in a space of 3x3 meters. We were wondering 2 things.

1. Would the accuracy of tracking be affected by the location of the tracked object; for example, would accuracy decrease nearby the camera's?

2. I presume that normally one places the camera's in the corners of the room. Would we then be able to track objects that are very close to the walls? Formulated differently; would we lose any tracked space near the edges of the room, and if so, how much space would we lose?

Thnx for any info!

The accuracy for a camera will decrease a bit as the tracker moves towards the edge of the cameras FOV, however this should not affect the overall accuracy as long as two other cameras have a good view of the tracker. With an 8 camera system this is usually the case. Even a properly placed 4 camera system will be able to track objects near the walls.

Thnx!

Ah, that brings me to another question of which I could not find the answer on the site: What is the FOV (in degrees :-) of a PPT camera?

The diagonal FOV of the PPT cameras is 70 degrees.
